I bought a cretified used 2000 model in 2003.
In December 2004, the first transmission was replaced by a Remanufactured one by Honda Delaer. The casr was under warranty at that time.
Now in May, 2009, the transmission has been diagnosed as bad again. Car has 108,000 miles but it is more than 7 yr- 9 months (7 months) covered by the class action extension of warranty. Honda dealer has offerred to replace it for $1100, saying that Honda is offering 60% and I have to pay 40%. He is also offering 3 yr/36 month warranty on transmission.
I had a mind to take the car to a third party mechanic shop, but decided to go with Honda Dealer because their offer looks good.
My wife made an observation that both times the transmission broke, I had used the car for carrying something heavier than usual passenger frieght. Can other people share their experience?
