My tranny is toast, my Odyssey has 205k km, this is very low mileage for it to go. I've had cars with higher mileage before and never experience any tranny problem. Honda claims their vehicles are superior compared to the compititors, however, I beg to differ after seeing all the posts on the website.

Honda owes it to their customer that they should repair the trannies at no charge or at the very least they should have done a recall, because this is an on going issue with it.

I am very upset because this is a $4k repair coming out of my pocket when it could have been avoided. I will never buy another Jap car again.

My 2003 likely just lost a transmission, too. This one was built in the US.

My 1995 was built in Japan. The acceleration on that one gradually aged with the van, but it never suddenly went out like the one in the 2003 did. It might just be coincidence that the one built in Japan was more reliable.

Honda should take care of this. Their reputation is at stake. Reliability was #1 with me. If they take care of it, I will go back to Honda. If they do not, I will buy elsewhere next time.
