I am the original owner of 2002 Honda Odyssey. I bought  the card Feb 2007. The transmission failed at the end of April with 90,000 miles.

Long story short, the dealer said repair cost $4600+tax, and Honda will cover $1500 only. I am hoping that Honda will pay more as this is totally unexpected from a Honda vehicle that I paid over the retail price.

So it sounds like you're the second owner, not the original owner?  Just wanted to say that I sympathize with you; it's so frustrating to buy a car, think it's in good shape and later find out that it needs major work.  We paid full sticker price for ours, brand new,  and then had to chunk down another 2.5K into the transmission (after what Honda covered with their 'thanks for buying our lemon' extended warranty.  At least you should be glad you didn't have to pay sticker price.  Never again will I buy a new Honda.  Sticker price plus faulty transmission= $32,000 'invested' in this vehicle that is now worth approx. $7500.  We've driven it 130.000 miles.  It has depreciated $3500/year since we purchased it.  At least you didn't buy new, so even with another transmission, I doubt you'll lose the same amt we have after you replace the transmission.  So count yourself lucky, I suppose.  It's all in how you look at it.

I bought the card Feb 2002, not 2007.
