Odyssey Transmission

Same story as so many others here; the van was at 130K miles but with immaculate care for its whole life. At first the TCS light would come on intermittently. We started noticing the auto clutch slipping mostly in the lower gears creating a safety issue when pulling into traffic. Then the check engine light came on. The maintenance codes were P0740 - Torque Converter Clutch failure and P0401 - EGR Insufficient Airflow. 

After taking it into the dealership, I found it needs all new transmission, EGR valve, busted engine mounts on front, rear & sides.  After all fixes it would cost 5,000.  The dealership thought I would have better luck calling Honda America myself. When I tried, Honda America offered no assistance because I'm outside the extended warranty.  I figure even though that's true, I should be receiving at least partial assistance. I paid a premium on the Honda name just to avoid situations like these. For paying that Honda premium and giving good care to the van, you should expect everything to work well up to around 200K miles.  I've also had some expensive brake repairs - expensive because the Honda parts are more expensive than other brands.  Honda has RIPPED ME OFF!  I guess I go to Toyota now, right? I've always loved their pick-ups.

We dealth with the same thing and just bought a Toyota as Honda was impossible since we were over the 109,000 extended warranty. We never would have purchased the van if we knew of the issues.
