The 2nd transmission in my 2002 Odyssey just failed! I had the original recall done at 60,000 miles. The dealer said everything is good! At 71,000 the transmission failed. I had purchased a 100,000 mile warranty with the vehicle when I bought it so it was covered by the warranty less the $100.00 deductible.
On my way home from vacation, 600 miles from my house the 2nd tranny failed at 142,000 miles. Isin't it ironic that both transmissions only lasted 71,000 miles. Instead of redesigning the transmission all that Honda did was give me the same peice of junk that was in the van to begin with. I called Honda and am waiting to see if they are going "to do anything for me".
This is unbelieveable that Honda does not have another class action suite filed! The 2nd transmission failed on Interstate 95 in NC. The speed limit there is 70MPH. We almost got killed. The tranny downshifted and redlined the engine. Tranny fluid blew out everywhere. It hit the exhaust pipe and sent a huge cloud of smoke out from the car. This could have caused a terrible accident. Does someone have to die before Honda is forced to do something.
The trade-in value of these vehicles has dropped because the problem is well documented.
To think I paid list price for the thing and now it is basically worthless!
Gonig back to Toyota's!!!!!!
