Odyssey Transmission

I purchased a used 2002 Odyssey in March of 2008 with 75,000 miles on it, to replace my then-failing 1999 Odyssey.  The 2002 ran fine until about 83,000 miles (about 14 months later).  I took it in to service in June 09.  The van was jolting when it was shifting between 2nd and 3rd, and sometimes the gears would seem to slip when simply accelerating, and the engine malfunction light was on. The dealer (an Acura dealer) mentioned nothing of all the problems I've been reading online, and instead, replaced the EGR valve and cleaned the EGR ports for $335 and sent me on my way.  Now, it's August and all the same issues are back.  I took it back to the Acura dealer today, and just got the phone call that the transmission is shot. I'm glad I that I thought to look online and educated myself with this transmission issue. I now look back and realize that I got screwed with the 1999 Odyssey as well.  I am not the original owner of the 2002, so it looks like I have a battle on my hands. But I will fight it...and will NEVER buy another Odyssey.
