My transmission has failed with no prior warning.  I have a 2003 Odyssey with 83,000 miles.  We have had it regularly serviced by a Honda dealership and have always driven it conservatively. This has been a huge disappointment, since I purchased a Honda for a higher price precisely because they are said to be high quality.  I have experienced all of the widespread indicators - engine check light, periodic TSC light, periodic flashing "D", problems between 2nd and 3rd gear, etc.  This is clearly a defective part to the Odyssey, as witnessed by the many websites, hundreds (thousands?) of blog entries, almost identical symptoms, and 99-01 settlement.  It is evident that Honda produced inferior transmissions for a number of years (9-04 at least) and should have long ago issued a recall.  I support the class action lawsuit and urge persistent legal action until Honda concedes or agrees to an acceptable settlement.  A $3,000-4,000 cost for so many vehicles is simply unacceptable when the problem is widespread and the defect so obvious.  I have been a Honda fan for years.  Unless Honda owns up to their transmission issues on the Odysseys, the Sienna is looking better by the day for me and all those whom I know.
