We purchased a 2001 Odyssey off a dealer's lot in August 2007. The vechile had relatively low mileage; I assumed it was in good condition since they did not send the van to auction. After about 9 months the check engine light displayed as a result of the transmission failing. We had it repaired and did receive a settlement that partially covered our costs from Honda America.
Last May I took the van to the same dealer to work out a trade-in for a new Odyssey, since vechile sales were extermely low at that time I was looking for a deal. Although I had just repaied the transmission a year ealier the head salesman warned me to expect more transmission problems in the future. Of course the salesman that originally sold us the van did not offer the same warning. Needless to say I won't buy another vehicle for this dealer.
