Purchased a 2002 Odyssey EX in 2003 with 32K miles, from AutoSearchUSA.com after searching all across the country to find one. At approximately 80K miles we noticed some tranny 'goofiness'. At about 98K miles, the check engine light came on and had the codes read, which indicated transmission issues. Took to dealer, ahd the "oil jet kit" recall service done, it didn't help the tranny at all, had a clutch pressure switch replaced, fluid chanaged and it still isn't shifting right now.
The van now is slipping between 2-3rd gears. I just spoke with Honda America and have a case open with them. They want to see my records that show I "took care" of the tranny with regular service work being performed. I don't have all records, so I'm not expecting much. Dealer told me that "if the tranny keeps slipping, then we'll need a new tranny". I asked them if Honda would help, and they said "maybe".
I'm waiting to hear back from Honda to see what they offer me, if anything. I asked them to pay for the tranny, I'd pay for the labor.
Does anyone know if the Class Action suit is going ahead? I've not heard anything....
Will I buy another Honda? No.
