We have a 2002 Honda Odyssey that we bought Certified used 1/06 with 60,000 mi. The tranny began slipping Oct 09 94,000 mi, called Honda America they said they already fixed the part that was recalled in 6/04 & gave me a Case# & said to take to a dealer, took it to a dealer they said no engine lights were on so they could not diagnose it, they said to bring it back when it does act up again and charged me $90 for nothing.  Kept acting up then engine light came on 1/10, took it to another dealer, they said we need an idle air control valve ($350) plus a new tranny $4300.  Called Walter at Honda America again, they said out of warranty cannot cover it, I explained I have researched it and there are tons of people that sound exactly like me how could they not cover it & back their product that has already had issues.  So he barters with me and asks how much we can afford to pay,  whats with the bartering? I tell him nothing I still have a payment I cannot get 1/2 of what I owe if I tried to sell it and they should be responsible for is as it is just out of warranty, bought as a certified, so many people out there just like us, etc.. and I told him the parts are free to Honda so why charge me, I offered to pay labor $780 so he says they will cover all but $2000.  I went to the dealer to p/u the van, paid the $78 diagnostic fee and I am still driving it only in 3rd.  Honda is a joke, their reps are immature and unprofessional, not a bit helpful. It is a game to them.  With tons of customers sounding like a broken record, a second class action should be right around the corner.
