I own a 2000 Odyssey. The transmission went at 122,000 miles. Honda dealership quoted me $4500 for a new tranny. I contacted Honda and asked for any assistance on the cost of repairs because this seems like a common problem. They of course  turned me down because they extended the warranty to 7 years or 109,000 miles and I was over. I said I guess I was one of the lucky ones to be able to get 122,000 mile on the vehicle and that I can't believe I can't get 200,000 miles out of a Honda without having to spend almost $5000 for repairs. No luck at and I am not going to spend that kind of money. I have no idea what I am going to do with the vehicle now.

My dealer quoted me $6000! I found a certified transmission shop that would guarantee their work for 100,000miles/3yrs. The dealer was only 36,000m/3 yrs. Our cost will be $3,400. We can't afford a new vehicle and we need the space (3 kids and a big dog). Call around and good luck!
