I bought my 2000 Odyssey new and was happy with it until transmission problems at 55k. The transmission was replaced at 59k under 100% warranty. The very next day I lost a ball joint and couldn't steer. They said it couldn't have been related to their work on the transmission as they put no weight on that part, but couldn't argure the timing, so they agreed to pay 100% of that job as well.
Now at 161k, I lost another transmission. This one is slipping after I drive about 30 minutes. I need to pull over for an hour and let it cool off, then I can go again. I'm on my way to the dealer to see what discount I can argue for, though I'm not expecting much at 100k on this transmission.
Additional note: I drive like an old lady - slow starts, gentle stops, etc. That may explain why I got further than others with this transmission...
