I have always been a big fan of Honda.  This is my second Odessey I bought.  The first one never had a problem and I was not aware of any problem.  On this second Odessey is 2004 with 130k miles.  All of the sudden I see a check engine light came on.  The weird part is that after reading the symptoms of this issue, I have NONE.  No slipping gear, nothing is weird when driving, nothing seems to be wrong!  The check engine light still has not gone away, so I brought the car to my mechanics, which of course, he told me it's the common transmission issue with this model.  This was the first time I ever knew about all these problems with the transmissions on Odessey.  Always trusted Honda and their parts until now.  I was even more shocked and surprised when I googled this transmission problem and see that all of us are having the same issue.

I called Honda, both service dealership and the headquarter.  The same answer I got from them was they cannot be responsible AT ALL.  All the trust from me to Honda is all gone.

I no longer have my 2002 Odyssey.  I decided not to spend one dime on it knowing what I know being shared on this and other sites.  I believe that Honda should not get away with sweeping the problem under the rug, profiting all the while from those who do spend money to "fix" Honda's problem with Honda's service departments.  If a class action is instituted, I will still be happy to give testimony about my experience.  Honda will never see a penny more from anyone in my family.
