hayman	1999	Posted: 07/29/2010 We had a 1999 Odyssey EX and the transmission went at 120K. The dealer would not give us any assistance on the cost so I wrote a letter to HONDA and they eventually gave me $2,000 toward the $4,000 cost to replace the transmission. At about 170K the replacement transmission also failed. I then sold it to my daughters driving instructor for $800 and he had a friend put in another transmission. Although I do like HONDAs and still own 2 accords and a civic, I will never buy another minivan from them.

Jmac7	NA	Posted: 07/30/2010 I hate to tell you but the Odyssey is not the only one from Honda had transmission problems, I had also an Accord I also had a problem. If you research more there are several lines of Honda and Accura cars that had transmission problems. What is worst than transmission problems is their customer service. Bottom line, stay away from Honda. I owned before a toyota Camry and still own a Lexus and I LOVE it (97 - 245,000 Milles, Drives like new, Oil looks new all the time; Only problem I have to change one time the oxigen sensor, that's all; Much better cars and better customer care.
