2011 Odyssey - 10,500 miles.  On 2 recent occasions while starting to mildly accelerate in Drive from stop or stop-n-go traffic, the transmission slips then hear and feel a bang kicking into gear, but it's still not in gear.  Pressing accelerator pedal only revs the engine.

Putting into N and Park didnt help.  Last time had to press the D3 button then was ok.  Still testing.

I just bought a '99 Honda Odyssey.  The previous owner did tell me that the transmission feels weird when it shifts from first to second and second to third gear.  I thought maybe it's just a matter of simple oil change on the transmission.  But after reading all complaints and stories about these issues, I've come to the conclusion that the problem is more sever.  It's hard to believe that such reputable line of vans would have so many transmission issues which don't speak good about it.  Apparently Honda extended the warranty on these van for 7 years or 100,000 Miles.  Unfortunately I am out of luck as far as the warranty goes.  I wish I had read these forums before I bought the van.

Any suggestions anyone has will be greatly appreciated.  Let's keep complaining so Honda gets their act together on this.

Thank you.

JD.
